Beguiling Anatolian charm meets rustic sensibility in this hand knotted wool vintage Turkish Sivas rug. The intrinsic geometric design and earthy color scheme woven into this piece work together creating a rustic yet refined look. Taking center stage is a large-scale octagram medallion decorated with concentric diamonds, square latticework, and tribal symbols. Two Art Deco architecture-like forms appear at either end while tree of life motifs and tiny flowers further ornament the red carpet field. Each corner spandrel is densely patterned with repeating roundels accompanied by a superimposed square. Adding to the visual delight is an eight-point star flower border enclosed with simple guard borders comprised of round formations. With its bold geometric pattern and intriguing graphic appeal, this vintage Turkish rug is capable of a variety of successful design applications and would be particularly at home in an Art Deco inspired interior.
