Dessau worked under the legendary Barbro Nilsson, who at that time was directing the Märta Måås-Fjetterström studio. Throughout her career, she worked with many organizations including Hemslöjden, Kristianstad, the Kastalls Mattfabrik, and Kinnasand AB and she completed many commissions including projects for various embassies and the Swedish Parliament.
