Description

Antique Persian Tabriz rug from Esmaili Rugs Collection: Haji Jalili was a well-known master craftsman from Marand, a small town northwest of Tabriz, Iran. This majestic and classically composed Tabriz was hand woven in Iran from the late 19th century, circa 1880 and boasts an ornate center medallion and breathtaking spandrels with an impressive allover pattern, rendered in exquisite detail. The refined palette consists of burnt orange, rust, beige, brown, midnight navy blue with accents of taupe, blush and pastel yellow. A vast field of delicate vine scrolls and flowers dance gracefully over this lovely Persian Tabriz while supporting an extraordinary array of a realistic botanical design that comprises of intricate detail work with a profound sense of elegance and sophistication. The remarkably detailed borders magnificently set the tone for the entire composition creating a flourishing enclosure for this peaceful scene, while an extended series of distinguished guard borders completes this idyllic composition.
