This antique Lilihan (Lylyan) rug features a curvilinear pattern and is composed of classic floral arabesque motifs. Lilihan is in what used to be called the Kemereh district. Other major Lilihan rug producers in the region include Khomeine and Reihan. Lilihan (Lylyan) rugs, with their longer pile, were made primarily for the United States and less prominent in Europe. One of the main characteristics of Lilihan rugs is the pink rose colored weft. They are slightly more coarse, but tightly flat woven, making them particularly durable. Lilihan carpets are similar to Sarouk rugs in style, thickness and color. This lavishly detailed antique Persian Lilihan rug has a gorgeous variegated brown and rust color palette that radiates regal composition. The refined allure of the angular patterns in this beautiful antique Lilihan shine through in the series of guard borders complementing the allover pattern in the field. Measures: 07'07" x 09'08"
