This hand-knotted wool antique Persian Azerbaijan rug features two decagonal medallions floating on an abrashed beige field. Two rectangles with Arabic signatures appear at the upper end of the field. A series of three hexagon and rosette borders frame the composition, along with an innermost Laleh Abbasi secondary border. Strong waves of abrash enhance the piece’s lovely restrained color palette based around shades of sandy beiges, soft blues and touches of terra cotta.
