74910 Distressed Antique Persian Mahal with Modern Artisan and Industrial Urban Style. This hand-knottd wool late 19th century antique Persian Mahal rug features an all-over Herati pattern. The classic Herati motif consists of a flower centered in a diamond accompanied by curving lanceolate leaves that resemble fish. The Herati motif is widely used in Iran and believed to represent the small fishes come up just beneath the surface of the water to swim in the full moon's reflection. It is enclosed with a Herati border flanked with an inner and outer guard band. With its fresh and utilitarian appeal, this Industrial style Persian rug gives modern spaces a raw yet sophisticated edge. Full of character and equally as compelling, the borders shine through complementing the overall design scheme. Rendered in variegated shades of tan, ecru, sand, taupe, coffee, espresso, charcoal, greige, light gray, and beige with other accent colors. Notice how the color removal process has created an uneven striation within the background color while the original pattern transpires in a vague shadow of its former self. Perfect for adding organic tactile sensations to a great room, living room, trophy room, man cave, hotel lobby, bedroom, dining room, front room, game room, study, studio, home office, private library, or sitting area.
