The medallion contains a superimposed long crystal-shaped medallion surrounded by a latticework of palmettes, large blooms, lanceolate leaves, vinery, blossoms and rosettes. The field is comprised of a stylized all-over Herati pattern, which mimics some of the designs from the central medallion. The classic Herati motif consists of a flower centered in a diamond accompanied by curving lanceolate leaves that resemble fish. The wide main border also features a Herati design as well, this one sporting large samovar-shaped palmettes. Delicate carnation meander guard borders add a refined touch to the composition.
