Description
53087 Distressed Vintage Persian Shiraz Rug with Northwestern Tribal Style 03'09 x 07'02. With rugged beauty and down-to-earth vibes, this hand knotted wool antique Persian Shiraz rug beautifully embodies Northwestern tribal style. It features a three stepped rhomboid pole medallion with latch-hook edges running the length of the carpet. The pole medallion and weathered field is covered in an array of ambiguous tribal symbols composed of scarabs, pinwheels, animals, boteh motifs, human figures, rosettes, Ram's horn, serrated leaves, and more. A repeating boteh pattern graces each corner spandrel. It is enclosed with a repetitive geometric tribal border flanked with an inner lozenge guard band and outer Ram's Horn meander guard band. Primitive charm and effortless beauty meets rustic sensibility in this weathered Persian rug. Perfect for a hallway, stair landing, open hall or long entry, kitchen, corridor, private library, den, mudroom, study, home office, sitting room, bathroom, grand foyer and designer entryway, or it would make a lovely accent to a great room, wine cellar, executive suite, conservatory, state room, royal suite, living room, bedroom, hotel lobby, billiards room, or clubhouse. It would make a lovely accent next to a buffet in a dining room, behind the sofa table in the living room, or by a long vestibule in a hotel lobby. Desirable Age Wear. Abrash. Hand-knotted wool. Made in Iran. Measures: 03'09 x 07'02.
