Description

21324 Vintage Beni MGuild Moroccan Rug, 06'08 x 09'09.

Showcasing a bold expressive design, incredible detail and texture, this hand knotted wool vintage Berber Beni M'Guild Moroccan rug is a captivating vision of woven beauty. The eye-catching chevron pattern and warm colors woven into this vintage Moroccan rug work together creating a truly unique look. The abrashed field features an all-over geometric design composed of repeating V-shape chevron lines decorated with ambiguous tribal motifs. Historical richness and full of Ancient Berber symbolism, this vintage Beni M'Guild rug features traditional symbols of protection and femininity in the central area while the borders along the vertical sides traditionally represent the male's presence. In Moroccan rugs, male motifs often appear on the outer portions of the composition, framing and enclosing the female motifs. This presentation can be seen as symbolizing fertility, as well as protection and the sanctuary of the family. The blending of colors harmonize one another, creating the perfect design and emanating function and versatility while staying true to the authentic spirit of Berber Tribe culture.
