One diamond is filled with a cruciform motif, known as an equal armed cross symbolize mating. This green Beni Mguild rug is ornamented with large diamond shapes, which represent a woman's openness to conceive and the power of womanhood. Smaller diamonds, when housed inside of larger diamonds, is known to represent the prediction of a pregnancy. This symbol is referred to as a "lozenge." The diamonds within diamonds symbolize birth and the image of a child. Intricate pops of ivory and indigo details break up the blend of vivacious colors to bring equilibrium to the piece.
