The other quarter part of the rug is composed of expanding lozenges, X-shapes and V-shapes. This Beni Mguild rug is heavily ornamented with diamond shapes, which represent a woman's openness to conceive and the power of womanhood. It is framed with eight-point stars symbolizing pregnancy in a chain-link square border along the vertical sides, representing the male's presence.
