Description:-
20885 Vintage Moroccan Zemmour Berber Area Rug with Modern Tribal Style 09'01 x 12'11. This hand-woven wool vintage Moroccan Zemmour Berber Kilim rug features an all-over geometric pattern. It beautifully displays seven alternating rows of wide bands and stripes composed of ancient Berber Tribe symbols. This flat-weave Zemmour Kilim rug displays symbols of Burdock, Bereket, Hook, Ram's Horn, and Elibelinde. The symbols represent marriage (Hook), fertility (Bereket), and abundance (Burdock). The Classic Elibelinde motif, also known as the “hands on hips” or goddess motif, is thought to represent motherhood and fertility while ram’s horns represent masculinity and power. The fertility bereket motifs that appear combine the symbols of both man and woman, often referred to as ram’s Horn and hands-on-hips motifs, into one design with a diamond in the centre. It is framed with triple vertical borders of repeating Elibelinde motifs. Blending primitive charm, ancient symbolism and Folk-Art warmth, this vintage Moroccan kilim rug reflects generations of cultural beliefs and serves many design purposes. Well-suited for a wide range of interior styles: Tribal, Nomadic, Ethnic, Traditional, Eclectic, Modern, Mid-Century Modern, Contemporary, Industrial, Bungalow, Bohemian, Boho Chic, Primitive, Rustic, Lodge, Cabin, and Lake Tahoe. Perfect for a dining room, bedroom, living room, home office, study, studio, front room, or casual sitting area. Rendered in variegated shades of ink blue, indigo, navy blue, charcoal, gold, saffron, ecru, beige, and almond. Hand-woven and hand-embroidered flat-weave kilim rug. Abrash. Hand-woven wool.
