Balancing a timeless design with a romantic rustic sensibility, this hand knotted wool distressed vintage Turkish Sivas rug beautifully embodies Art Nouveau style. A round sixteen point medallion densely patterned with florals and foliage and anchored with trefoil pendants takes center stage. Elaborate trefoils, stylized flowers, leafy tendrils, curved sickle leaves and hyacinth blossoms grace each corner spandrel. It is enclosed with a botanical border flanked with double inner and outer floral guard bands. The warm rust colored field is covered with a floral bounty like a lush flower garden. Enhanced by its distressed composition and waves of abrash sweeping across the field, this vintage Turkish rug beautifully displays worn-in charm with an intimate patina.
