77362 Vintage Turkish Sparta Rug with Caucasian Qashqai Shiraz Tribal Style 09'05 x 12'05. Displaying primitive charm and nomadic tribal style, this vintage Turkish Sparta rug is an amalgam of Caucasian Qashqai Tribe influence. This hand-knotted wool vintage Turkish Sparta rug features a rhomboid lozenge pole medallion with three diamond amulet medallions patterned with rosette roundels and outlined with latch-hook edges. The pole medallion is anchored with large-scale ram's horn and palmette pendants at either end while floating in an open abrashed creamy-beige field. Angular corner spandrels outlined with inner lozenge spikes and an outer repeating lozenge chain extend along the sides creating a large-scale Ram's Horn design along the vertical sides. The integrated spandrels form a second frame patterned with symmetrically placed palmettes, serrated leaves, eight-point flowers, serrated leaves, and boteh on a bluish-grey backdrop. The vintage tribal area rug is enclosed with a creamy-beige alternating geometric border surrounded by a series of guard bands composed of Rhodian Lily, rosettes and a crenelated fence flanked with subsidiary stripes.
