The branches bloom with palmettes accented in sapphire with acanthus leaves. The light-colored field is dotted with cruciform cross motifs and diamond shapes representing the "evil eye" for protection. The antique Oushak rug is enclosed with a brown border composed of rhomboidal flowers with forked leaves alternating with serrated leaves of navy blue, flanked by double guard bands of rosettes and ribbons.
