Art Nouveau meets Biophilic Design in this hand knotted wool vintage Persian Mahal rug. The naturalistic design elements and analogous earthy hues woven into this piece work together resulting in a sense of warmth and calming environment. A spacious large-scale botanical design composed of serrated leaves, blooming palmettes, organic forms and delicate vines ornament the abrashed tan-taupe field. The decoration spills into a palmette meander border and floral meander guard borders, the finishing touch on a crowning achievement of Persian weaving. Reflecting elements of Biophilia and quiet sophistication with earth-tone colors, this vintage Persian area rug would be a wonderful addition to nearly any interior especially one inspired by the Arts & Crafts, Art Nouveau or Prairie School movements.
