Let the impassioned crimson flame red of this Vintage Berber Moroccan rug entice you as it blends beautifully against the subdued creamy-beige in this design. This tribal style Moroccan rug is ornamented with varying designs, all of them equally as elaborate. The Berber Moroccan rug is known for the symbolism that is so intricately woven throughout the rugs, maintaining motifs of femininity and the nature of a woman. This rug stays true to the cultural of Berber rug-making. In ancient Berber tradition, the smaller diamond, when housed by the larger diamond seen in the foreground of this rug, predicts a pregnancy. This symbol is often referred to as a "lozenge," and was frequently seen in pieces of the High Atlas. The "X-shape" pattern in the border of this rug represents a woman's openness to conceive. Rendered in variegated shades of red, from flame, crimson and cinnabar to rust, light orange, brown, taupe, charcoal and beige. Hand-knotted. Made in Morocco. Berber Tribes of Morocco.
