handwoven wool rug features an all-over raised pattern composed of a large
scale, jagged diamond trellis. Meanwhile six horizontal bars cut the lattice
from selvage to selvage into sections. Paired bars at either end create a
separate section filled with different motifs, five squares at one end and a
row of diamonds and finials at the other. This latticework of lozenges was
inspired by the Berber Tribes of Morocco. In traditional Moroccan symbolism,
the lattice and diamonds represent femininity and the bars represent
