Vintage Berber Moroccan Rug, 06'08" x 11'06" From Esmaili Rugs Collection. Woven by the Berber Tribes of Morocco in the 1940's, this colorful Moroccan rug features a richly textured pile, strong designs and a striking color palette, including various shades vibrant red, electric purple, yellow and green. Vivid green and bright yellow lines form a captivating latticework pattern. The plum-colored field showcases a gradient abrash that transitions from red to purple and lavender. This wonderfully wild carpet has all the attributes that make these tribal pieces ideal for modern, contemporary and eclectic interiors. The hints of dyes that make their way into the rug's motifs and fringes have their own tale to tell. In Berber culture, the color red symbolizes strength and protection, blue symbolizes wisdom, yellow represents eternity and green stands for peace.
