This hand-knotted wool distressed vintage Turkish Sivas rug
features a scalloped diamond-shaped medallion with palmette pendants floating
in the center of an abrashed brick red field. Delicate floral designs adorn the
medallion and corner spandrels with a lovely display of vinery, rosettes,
blooms, buds, and leaflets. The large main border is composed of lotuses and
scrolling vines, while four rosette meander guard borders add a touch of
graceful simplicity to the composition. With time-softened colors, intricate
detailing, and just the right amount of age-wear, this vintage Sivas rug would
bring elegance and old-world charm to nearly any space.
