This vintage Beni Mguild Moroccan rug marries the vintage style of the Berbers and the look of a more modern piece. Though deceptively simple, this beautiful Beni M'Guild Moroccan rug is clearly laced with meaning and cultural significance. The chevron pattern has great historical meaning in the history of Moroccan rug-making as a continuation of the range of feminine and reproductive symbolism displayed by Berber carpets. This chevron pattern typically represents femininity, womanhood, and alludes to a woman���s opened thighs symbolizing her readiness for conception. The border is composed of fused triangles representing the male's presence. In Moroccan rugs, male motifs often appear on the outer portions of the composition, framing and enclosing the female motifs.
