77130 Vintage Turkish Marby Rug Anatolian Animal Carpet 07'04 x 10'00 From Esmaili Rugs Collection. This hand-knotted wool vintage Turkish Marby rug is based on an Anatolian animal carpet found in the Swedish church of Marby in Jämtland province. A rectangle composed of two octagonal medallions are rendered in creamy-vanilla and each filled with a pair of birds (peacocks) flanked symmetrically on each side of the tree of life. The octagons have triangle spandrels formed by the tarantula style blue borders from the octagons. Three meander hook borders enclose the rectangle. A larger Marby design is depicted on the black field. The Marby design is rendered in a teal green and outlined in red with cream and pale blue accents. A cream-colored geometric border open on two ends frames this work of art. Hand-knotted wool. Made in Turkey. Measures: 07'04 x 10'00.
