Description:-
A beautifully detailed antique Bijar Persian rug features traditional modern style. This antique Bijar rug boasts an elaborate allover Herati motif pattern, rendered in exquisite detail. The refined color palette combined with the impressive array of geometric design elements reflect a wonderful iteration of classic Persian rug trends. The exceptionally detailed borders set the tone for the entire composition creating a compelling contrast to the powerful imagery found within the field, while an extended series of detailed guard borders complete this picturesque composition. Known as the Iron Rugs of Iran, Bijar rugs and carpets with their unique weave and double weft are prized for their sturdy construction and durability. Bijar carpet weavers pound the weft strands against the rows of knot repeatedly until the weave becomes extremely compact. The strong tension of the weft pulls the warp into two layers, giving the rug a certain stiffness and rigidity. As a result, Bijar rugs and carpets are dense, heavy, and exceptionally durable. Hand-knotted wool. Made in Iran (Persia). Measures: 07'01 x 10'02.
