This hand knotted wool vintage Persian Hosseinabad rug features a cusped diamond center medallion surrounded by the all-over Classic Herati design. The all-over Herati pattern is among the most widespread and well known of all Persian designs, consisting of a flower centered in a diamond accompanied by curving lanceolate leaves that resemble fish. In this vintage Hosseinabad rug, the small-scale Herati pattern is both lively and sophisticated. Complementary spandrels in each corner echo the central medallion. It is enclosed with a floral border flanked by inner and outer running water guard bands and carnation meander guard bands. Perfect for a private library, study, home office, studio, sitting room, front room, bedroom, living room, dining room, mudroom, designer entryway, grand foyer, or large open entry.
