20760 Vintage Beni Ourain Moroccan Rug with Mid-Century Modern Style 07'00 x 10'00. This hand knotted wool vintage Beni Ourain Moroccan rug features a lozenge trellis pattern on a neutral background. Bold, thick lines composed of squares form a diamond lattice on a field of creamy-beige. The piece is framed with a plain border tying the rug together to completion. The style of the ancient Berber tribes, including the Beni Ourain, influenced artists and designers of the mid-20th century. Lacking a written language, the Berber Tribe and Beni Ourain weavers created pieces rich in symbolism and history to document their everyday existence. This striking example of a Beni Ourain will add a touch of nomadic village Folk Art or Mid-Century Modern style to nearly any space.
