Description:-
20595 Vintage Berber Moroccan Rug with Tribal Style 6'01 x 8'10 From Esmaili Rugs Collection. This Vintage Berber Moroccan Rug completes itself with the use of grey and a muted lavender-primrose. These colors are simplistic yet beautiful. There are splashes of color on the bottom vertical end of the rug, which add character and uniqueness to the woven delight. The intricacy of the Berber Moroccan rug comes from the geometric design which ornaments the rug with rich Ancient Berber symbolism and culture. In the center of the rug, a fusion of the X symbol with the V symbol is repeated from top to bottom. The X is known to stand for the open arms and legs of a woman who is ready to conceive, while the V is the symbol used for the open thighs of a woman. This motif of femininity and reproduction is frequently seen within Ancient Berber rug making. The border of the rug features symbols of an Ancient Berber motif which is far more rare. The "rod-like" shapes seen on the edges of the rug symbolize a male's role in reproduction. Hand-knotted wool. Made in Morocco. Berber Tribes of Morocco. Measures: 06'01 x 08'10.
