Oushak Rug with Tribal Artisan Style 06'03 X 09'01.
This hand-knotted wool
vintage Turkish Oushak rug embodies an Artisan style. Immersed in Anatolian
history and warm colors, this vintage Oushak rug features a center medallion
filled with a cruciform (cross symbol) composed from the Elibelinde (hands on hips)
and Ram's Horn motif at either end. The medallion is outlined with latch-hook
edges and dotted with eight-point flowers in an open abrashed field flanked
with a chandelier pendant on either end. Cream spandrels in each corner
contrast beautifully with the series of borders. The primary border contains
repeating ziggurat mounds with latch-hook edges are filled with roundels,
rosettes, and ram's horn motifs. A rustic terra cotta zigzag with beige arrows
runs through the ziggurat mounds. The main border is flanked with subsidiary
guard borders.
