20615 Vintage Berber Moroccan Rug with Tribal Style 6'05 x 8'2 From Esmaili Rugs Collection. Muted shades of red and beige contrast to allow the intricate detail of the woven geometric motifs to take the foreground of this Vintage Berber Moroccan Rug. The diamond shape that is repeated throughout the entirety of the rug symbolized the openness of a woman in traditional Berber culture. Smaller diamonds which are housed by larger diamonds were meant to predict a pregnancy. The motif of femininity and the woman is quite common within Vintage Berber Moroccan rugs. However, this rug in particular is woven with attention to a motif which is far less common. The rods inside of the diamonds that detail the border of the rug are known to be part of a rare masculine motif, which symbolizes the participation of the male in the act of conception.
