Antique Afghan Ersari Rug, 05'09
X 13'02.
Nomadic charm meets Maximalism in this antique Afghani Ersari rug. The geometric design and lively earthy hues woven into this piece work together creating a look of worldly sophistication. The abrashed red field features an allover pattern composed of octagonal Tauk-Nuska guls arranged in three vertical columns. A variety of star motifs symbolizing spirituality, including both
hexagrams and octograms further ornament the field. The large main
border contains a paneled design with large tulip motifs separated by diamond
bands. A series of diamond, double cross, and dart secondary borders flank the
main tribal border, adding a sense of dimension to the composition. Packed with visual complexity, the ambiguous motifs and bold colors create an esoteric juxtaposition among the geometric design.
Rustic yet refined, this antique Afghani rug is well-suited with a variety of styles: Maximalist, Tribal, Pacific Northwest, Southwestern, Nomadic, Ethnic, Folk Art Style, Modern Mexican, Santa Fe Desert, Mid-Century Modern, Contemporary, Modern, Bohemian, Boho Chic, Eclectic, Black Forest, Lake Tahoe, Lodge, Cabin, Rustic, Industrial, Artisan, Urban, and Loft. It would also complement mountain living for luxury ski chalets, secluded hunting lodges and rustic ranches found in Montana, Colorado, Lake Tahoe, Wyoming, or the Adirondacks.
- Rendered in variegated shades of red, rose, orange, brown, gray, taupe and beige with other accent colors.
- Abrash. Desirable Age Wear.
