This hand-knotted wool Turkish Oushak rug features an oversized stepped golden-colored medallion set against an abrashed neutral field. The medallion contains a hooked cruciform shaped inner medallion decorated with eight-pointed stars and is surrounded by large blossoms and rectilinear vinery. Delicate trefoil blooms line the color-blocked corner spandrels. A wonderful series of borders separated by striped listels frame the composition: the innermost border features a blossom and diagonal stripe motif, a rosette meander middle border, and meandering vine outer border. The color palette is cheerful and elegant; the soft warm colors are perfectly balanced by muted blue and gray accents and the neutral backdrop.
