Earthy rustic style meets refined elegance. This
hand-knotted wool vintage Turkish Oushak rug features a large-scale stepped
medallion with trefoil tips on either end. Double headed arrows and inconspicuous
florals fill the centre medallion as it floats in an abrashed cut-out field
with serrated saw-tooth edges. A tree of life vase and hanging protection
amulets are woven in each corner spandrel. Fish-bone pillars surround the inner
composition. It is enclosed with meander guard borders and a Bereket fertility
border is a combination of the Ram’s Horn and hands-on-hips motifs with a
diamond in the center. This vintage Oushak hallway runner displays a charming
visual appeal and intimate patina with significant abrash and color gradations.
