This hand knotted wool vintage Turkish Oushak rug captures the evocative beauty of Anatolian artistry through a dramatic composition. A monumental stepped lozenge dominates the open field, creating an architectural framework around an elaborate central medallion. Its spacious proportions and softened palette give the piece an air of cultivated restraint, while the intricate symbolic drawing reveals the intimate visual language of village weaving. At its center rests an elongated concentric amulet medallion, constructed from successive stepped compartments and crowned with powerful hooked extensions.
