Description:-
20612 Vintage Berber Moroccan Rug with Tribal Style 05'04 x 8'03 From Esmaili Rugs Collection. This Vintage Berber Moroccan Rug is colored with the power of crimson and umber, colors which denote the rich culture of the ancient Berbers. Creamy beige overlays the center of the rug, forming an intricate geometric pattern. The pattern of diamonds is not uncommon for an Ancient Berber rug, as it is a symbol of womanhood and openness to conceive, a central motif in Berber rug-making. The crimson-umber hues are allowed to fully present itself around the border of the piece, which is ornamented by an "X" symbol. The "X" symbol is known to symbolize the arms and legs of a woman who is ready to conceive a child. The black border around the rug ties the piece together as it contrasts against the softness of beige and the power of crimson and umber. Hand-knotted. Made in Morocco. Berber Tribes of Morocco. Measures: 05'04 x 08'03.
