Description:-

20304 Vintage Berber
Moroccan Rug with Tribal Style 05'01 X 07'08 From Esmaili Rugs Collection.

The rich waves of red abrash provide a beautiful backdrop for the vibrant color
symbolic motifs featured on this vintage Berber Moroccan rug. With its
distinctive tribal design and primitive charm, this vintage Moroccan rug is
rich in Ancient Berber culture, as the design displays a host of reproductive
symbolism frequently found in Berber rugs. The central lozenge represents
fertility in the midst of floating diamonds symbolizing a spiritual trance or
other worldly experience. Duality, a theme of women Berber weavers, is pictured
with female diamonds flanked by harvest symbols and a zigzag line. The zigzag
line also known as a snake represents the male's presence in this piece.
Hand-knotted wool. Made in Morocco. Berber Tribes of Morocco. Measures: 05'01 X
07'08.
