With an array of poly-chromatic florals and arabesque vines, this hand knotted wool vintage Persian Kashan rug embodies a true Art Nouveau style. A lively all-over floral pattern composed of palmettes, blooming lotus, star flowers, curled sickle leaves, floral sprigs, leafy tendrils, blossoms, hyacinth blooms, and acanthus leaves permeate the composition adding luxurious texture and beauty underfoot. It is framed with a Shah Abbas palmette border flanked with inner and outer carnation Meander guard bands and subsidiary sawtooth stripes and a crows feet outer guard band.
