74556 Vintage Berber Moroccan Rug with Modern Tribal Style 04'09 x 06'04. Historical richness and full of ancient Berber symbolism, this Moroccan rug displays traditional symbols of protection, femininity and conception. A rod medallion in the center composed of squares each filled with symbolic Berber motifs, diamonds, lozenges, X-shapes and the Burdock. A vertical row of six stacked diamonds with spiked edges are on each side. A compartmental border displaying X-shape motifs frames the center. The diamonds and X-shapes represent a woman's openness to conceive and the power of womanhood. Smaller diamonds, when housed inside of larger diamonds, is known to predict a pregnancy. Lozenges with spiked edges and Burdock motifs are for protection and warding off the evil eye. The outer border is made of zigzag lines and three-prong twigs symbolize the male's presence. A smaller beige border with a zigzag line completes the outside border.
