This hand knotted antique Persian Afshar rug features an all-over repeating geometric pattern composed of five columns of stepped lozenges in alternating colors. Four half lozenges in the form of stepped ziggurat mounds extend from the borders. It is framed by a series of borders composed of s-hooks, barber pole stripes, Meander, and running water.
