Collection. This Late 18th Century Antique French Tapestry features a
lively bucolic landscape scene. A bird stands in a stream in the foreground
while trees and flowering plants create a plentiful verdure forest. A
neoclassical portico stands among the lush foliage while a crenelated city wall
separates the foreground from the buildings in the distance beyond it. This
verdure wall hanging tapestry is a beautiful example of antique French weaving.
Rendered in variegated shades of verdigris, cerulean, hunter green, dark green,
olive, celadon, brown, coffee, chocolate, brass, gold, tan, ecru, saffron,
goldenrod. Perfect for a wide range of styles, from opulent period, Aubusson, Baroque
and British Colonial to French Provincial, Renaissance, Rococo and Romantic.
