Rich in color, texture and beguiling ambiance, this hand knotted wool antique Persian Mashhad rug runner beautifully displays timeless elegance and regal charm. A frenzied garden and lush botanical display composed of palmettes, leafy curled tendrils, blooming lotus, rosette roundels, feathers, acanthus leaves, and stylized florals interspersed with of undulating cloudband ribbons. The detail of every flower, leaf and vine scroll reveals an astonishing level of precision seamlessly melding into this idyllic design scheme, allowing each stately floral to be expressed with elegance. It is enclosed with a classic Herati border flanked with inner and outer carnation meander guard bands. The border is signed with an Inscribed Cartouche Kufic of Islamic calligraphy. With elegantly curved and well-balanced architectural floral elements, this antique Persian palace rug runner embodies Victorian style with Old World vibes.
