52172 Vintage Turkish Kars Rug, 04'07 x 12'08.
This hand-knotted wool vintage Turkish Kars gallery rug features three large-scale serrated lozenges with pole extensions on either end dotted with complementary smaller versions. The field is composed of a geometric pattern of repeating diamond motifs forming a diamond latticework design. Double stepped ziggurats echoing the lozenge pattern extend from either end of the Kars runner, adding depth and interest. It is framed with a serrated leaf and eight-point star border flanked with an inner saw-tooth and running water guard band.
Rendered in variegated shades of beige, sand, tan, ecru, camel, taupe, coffee, rose, and pink. The limited color palette based around warm earth-tone colors has a calming sensibility while pink accents add visual interest and a subtle color pop. The subtle hues in this vintage Turkish rug balance out spaces with bolder colors and dark architectural elements allowing a space to transition from casual to luxurious, without sacrificing comfort.
