74292 Antique Russian Caucasian Kazak Rug, 04'04 X 08'06.
Based
on traditional designs from the Caucasus region, this hand-knotted wool antique
Caucasian Kazak Rug features seven octagon medallions, each filled with ram's
horn motifs and stair-step lozenges and small squares uniting to form a small
cross. The octagonal medallions float on abrashed red field and surrounded by
eight-point stars, rosettes, S-hooks, birds, gazelles and an array of other
tribal motifs. Two main borders are made up of a rosette border and star
compartmental border. The running water guard bands and flanked with very thin
barber pole stripes.
- Rendered in variegated shades of red, scarlet, ruby red, ink
blue, navy blue, sky blue, tan, beige, ecru, taupe and sand. - Desirable Age
