Description:-
20456 Vintage Berber Moroccan Kilim Rug with High and Low Pile 04'02 x 06'06 From Esmaili Rugs Collection. Creamy beige sets the stage for earth-tone horizontal stripes and vibrant tribal design. The stark contrast of the red and orange colors woven into this Vintage Berber Moroccan Kilim rug create a unique piece which adds zest to nearly any room. Diamonds in the center and periphery of the kilim rug are shaded in deep red, which pops against the background. The diamond shape is a symbol in Ancient Berber culture which is known to predict a pregnancy. The chevron alludes to a woman’s opened thighs and her readiness for conception. This Kilim rug includes a very rare symbol, the rod or line shape, which symbolizes the role of the male in reproduction. Motifs of femininity and reproduction are frequently seen in the Moroccan rug designs produced by Ancient Berber rug makers. The Berber kilim rug is bordered by fringe in black and violet-purple. It is a two-layer rug featuring a high and low pile. Hand-woven wool. Hand-knotted wool. Flat-weave Kilim Rug with some pile. Made in Morocco. Berber Tribes of Morocco. Measures: 04'02 x 06'06.
