This hand-knotted wool vintage Turkish Oushak rug with rustic
style features a variety of traditional Anatolian symbols interlaced into a
striking design. The large center medallion features a bouquet surrounded by
floral forms and ram���s horns, while hands-on-hips pendants protrude outward.
Botanical S-shaped figures with ram���s horns adorn the corner spandrels. A palmette
main border and S-motif guard borders frame the composition. The hands-on-hips,
or goddess, symbol represents motherhood, while ram���s horns represent
masculinity. S-shapes represent hooks, which are thought to protect against
evil. The rusty terra cotta color of the field and accent colors complement a
mostly neutral color palette, making this vintage Oushak rug warm, inviting and
versatile.��
