Description:-
Antique Suzani rug from Esmaili Rugs Collection: Known for their beautiful embroidered Suzani panels, the Uzbek women of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan in central Asia worked in silk threads in hand embroidery on a heavy cotton or silk and cotton blend fabric background. Traditionally used as wall hangings, bedspreads, furniture throws, pillows, or table coverings, the Suzani is customarily made by family members for a Central Asian girl's dowry. Depending on its size, a Suzani has multiple functions. Large circular designs, assumed to be sun and moon, are thought to derive from ancient Zoroastrian cosmological signs crucial to the agricultural communities. The colors of this raspberry fuchsia and deep blue will breathe life into a stylish modern space. Here we have a predominantly raspberry colored center medallion with the same raspberry colored 'botum' symbol, shaped like a teardrop or almond signifies abundance. Suzani is now an extremely rare feature of the modern eclectic and Bohemian interiors. Interior designers love them because of their bold and unusual design and their ability to warm up any space and bring some exotic feel in it. In recent years, we have seen a remarkable revival of this antique traditional art form.
