Description:-
74767 Vintage Berber Moroccan Boucherouite Rug, Colorful Moroccan Shag Accent Rug 03'07 X 06'02 From Esmaili Rugs
Collection. Boucherouite rugs were woven by Berber women in brilliant color palettes portraying the rich history of the Berber tribes' African influence. This hand-knotted wool and cotton Moroccan boucherouite rug features a striking geometric composition of compartmentalized diamonds and cubes on an abrashed field. Jewel tones of sapphire, amethyst, topaz, peridot and aquamarine compete for attention on variegated patches of color patterned with brilliant toned cubes. While the pattern may seem whimsical and random, it is very telling of the rug weaver’s personal experience and life events. The Moroccan carpet features a diamond lozenge shape on one side, which holds great symbolism in ancient Berber rug-making. The diamond is known to represent femininity and womanhood, as well as predicting a pregnancy. Squares represent an enclosed space symbolizing a safe abode of permanence and security. Staying true to its Bauhaus style and displaying a hard edge painting style, graphic color block pattern, bold form and colors, this contemporary Moroccan draws inspiration from Mark Rothko, Hans Hofmann, Piet Mondrian, and Karl Benjamin. Well-suited for a wide range of interior styles: Abstract, Nomadic, Boho Chic, Abstract Expressionism, Cubism, Modern, Mid-Century Modern, Contemporary, Post-Modern, Memphis Group, Industrial, Rustic, Lodge, Contemporary Scandinavian, Ethnic, Primitive, African, Tribal and Bohemian. Perfect for adding a pop of color to a living room, family room, game room, play room, bedroom, study, studio, office, sitting room, children's, nursery, man cave, theater room, hallway, entry, foyer and entryway. Uniquely woven with recycled materials, such as cotton and wool, giving the rugs a colorful boho chic style. Boucherouite rugs are known as Moroccan rag rugs. Desirable Age Wear. Abrash. Hand-knotted wool and cotton. Made in Morocco. Berber tribes of Morocco. Measures: 03'07 x 06'02.
