Description:-
20575 Vintage Berber Moroccan Boucherouite Rug 3'06 x 6'01 From Esmaili Rugs Collection. A blend of pastel and stark hues of the colors woven into this piece work together to create a truly unique look. The background of the piece provides a diversely variegated color block design that allows the ornamenting designs woven into the rug to really pop. This Vintage Berber Moroccan Boucherouite rug features many symbols which were held closely in their culture. In Ancient Berber rug-making, the diamond is frequently used as it is a symbol of femininity and womanhood and is known to predict a pregnancy. The "X" shape, also seen in this piece, is known to symbolize the open arms and legs of a woman who is ready to conceive. On one vertical side of the rug, white fringe trims the center of the piece, tying the masterpiece together. Hand-knotted wool and cotton. Made in Morocco. Berber Tribes of Morocco. Measures: 3'06 x 6'01.
