With boho chic style and tribal motifs based on ancient traditions, this Berber Moroccan rug displays exciting, abstract and modern designs. While these vintage pieces display some of the same aesthetic tendencies previously celebrated by modern artists, they are indeed tribal compositions which have played importance to the Berber Tribes of Morocco for centuries. This vintage Moroccan rug features three stacked rows of diamond lozenges surrounded by a red zigzag border on a creamy beige field. Impeccable Berber Tribe weaving rendered in red, blue, orange, pink, green, purple, white and black contrast beautifully against the creamy-beige and tan field. While the patterns may seem whimsical and random – they are very significant to the rug weaver’s life.
