Warm and inviting combined with the right amount of necessary aesthetic elements, this hand knotted wool distressed antique Persian Malayer design rug charms with ease and stays true to tastefully casual and the cozy simplicity of British Colonial Cottage style. The distressed Turkish rug features a stepped medallion anchored with extended serrated pendants at either end and curved sickle leave extensions. Each corner spandrel is adorned with a variety of roundel rosettes. It is enclosed with a rectilinear botanical Meander border flanked with an inner running water guard band and an outer carnation Meander guard border. The softly rendered geometric pattern combined with the weathered striations imbue the composition with a great deal of visual interest and overall harmony.
