Description:-
20512 Vintage Berber Moroccan Azilal Rug Square Rug with Tribal Style 04'04 x 04'04 From Esmaili Rugs Collection. The warm brown, light yellow sandy and the cool blue-sky colors conjure the tribal feeling of Moroccan spirit in this Vintage Berber Moroccan Azilal rug. The different colored lines create mismatched triangle and diamond shapes, which carry great symbolism. More than the asymmetrical beauty found in the geometric pattern, there is also an element of Ancient Berber culture as well. The diamond is known to represent femininity and womanhood, as well as predicting a pregnancy. Triangles are known to represent the past, present, and future or spirit, mind and body. The orientation of triangles are important too. A triangle that points upward represents a strong foundation or stability, as it is rooted to the ground through a solid base. Triangles that point-up also symbolize male energy, and fire and air are masculine elements. The downward pointing triangle represents female energy, and water and earth are feminine elements. Creamy-beige fringe hangs one of the vertical sides, tying the piece together. Hand-knotted wool. Made in Morocco. Berber Tribes of Morocco. Square Rug. Measures: 04'04 x 04'04.
