With its soft and delicate color palette and bold geometric form, this hand-knotted wool vintage Turkish Oushak runner embodies both rustic French and Georgian style. Two large-scale stacked lozenge medallions are outlined with inner latch-hooks and filled with ambiguous shapes. A variety of flowers and traditional Anatolian symbols, including amulets, crosses and diamonds, are spread throughout the field. It is enclosed with a Elibelinde (hands on hips) Ram's Horn border pulling together colors from throughout into a unified, harmonious design. Steeped in Anatolian history and culture, this evocative vintage Oushak runner’s rich symbolism and well-harmonized colors create a truly wonderful piece that would enliven nearly any interior.
